Testimonials
Our experience show that patients feel their pain and swelling were significantly reduced by the hilotherapy and helped in their healing. The patients feel the masks were comfortable to wear and there were zero complications directly related to the device. The majority would recommend the treatment to a friend and many wished they could continue the treatment at home.

Hilotherapy is a closed system superficial tissue cooling device that is superb for controlling soft tissue swelling after facial cosmetic surgery. Less swelling means less pain and less risk of secondary post inflammatory complications.I have been using this device for over 2 years now and nurse -led objective studies on my patients clearly show improved patient satisfaction rates . A happy post-op patient will lead to new referrals and a successful practice.

I have now been using Hilotherm for facial surgery for three years, and have found it a very useful device for managing post-operative facelift patients. The device is universally accepted and liked by patients, and early analysis of my data suggests that the haematoma rate has decreased significantly since I have initiated using the device. More importantly, swelling appears to be greatly reduced and post-operative discomfort decreased.

As a specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery I use HILOTHERAPY for recovery of facial and breast surgery patients. With facial surgery after 24 hours of using Hilotherapy the swelling and pain is subsided (similar to the state after seven days). There is very minimal if any pain, wound healing remains unaffected, in contrast to conventional or even ice-cooling. In breast surgery, the initial swelling is almost completely alleviated. The operated women need significantly less pain medication and be fit again much faster. I can not imagine a professional aesthetic procedure without subsequent cooling using Hilotherapy now.
Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Gubisch, Ärztlicher Direktor der Klinik für Plastische Gesichtschirurgie, Marienhospital Stuttgart
We use several devices HILOTHERAPY since market launch several years aho. Without exception, all patients are cooled postoperatively. Both swelling and pain sensations are reduced significantly. The devices are an indispensable part of everyday life in our clinic.
Dr. Hartmut Meyer, Praxisklinik Brahmsallee, Hamburg, Plastische Chirurgie
Our clinic is highly specialized in plastic surgery in the facial area. We have been using Hilotherapy for over a year now. With the large variety of cuffs offered, we are able to cool in spite of very different proceedures. Hilotherapy not only leads to a reduction in swelling, but it promotes a faster healing process and this positive effect is also reflected in the significantly lower need for analgesics. The patients love the home care device, which they take home after leaving the hospital. The Hilotherapy has proven successful for us in every way and therefore become a permanent part of our post-operative regimen.
Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Gubisch, Ärztlicher Direktor der Klinik für Plastische Gesichtschirurgie, Marienhospital Stuttgart
We have been working for several months with the HILOTHERAPY system and are excited about the visible reduction in bruising and swelling in the lower facial region, particularly in the area of the eyelid and nose surgery. Patients are thus much earlier socially acceptable!
Dr. Jan Restel, Praxisklinik für Plastische-Ästhetische Chirurgie, Düsseldorf
In our clinic HILOTHERAPY has been successfully used in about 3 years of postoperative follow-up of aesthetic surgery of the face, chest and in the genital surgery. The patients are extremely satisfied with the treatment and find it very soothing.
Dr. Hermann Solz, Facharzt für Plastische und Ästhetische Chirurgie, Chefarzt der Mannheimer Klinik für Plastische Chirurgie
Immediate postoperative cooling is an integral part of our therapy concept and critically important for gentle pain relief and to minimize swelling.
With the HILOTHERAPY this concept can be hygienically, an uncomplicated, noise-free and enjoyable implement already in the recovery room. Particularly pleasing is the moderate cooling, which also excludes damage due to excessive cold. Thus, the HILOTHERAPY from our everyday operations is no longer indispensable.
Dr. Sven von Saldern, Facharzt für plastische und ästhetische Chirurgie, Klinik am Forsterpark/ Praxis Dres. Dörzapf und Partner, Augsburg
HILOTHERAPIE has been proven to us not only excellent medical tool but also as a marketing tool. Many patients have now realized that post-operative swelling and bruising HILOTHERAPY reduced or even prevented. In all the plastic surgery of the face and chest Hilotherm us is the device for 2 years, as expected, become indispensable. Previous experience with the device in traumatology has led to impressive clinical evidence for its effectiveness. Elimination of pain, swelling of lymph flow and improved prophylaxis significantly improve the postoperative comfort of our patients.
Dr. Michael Schikorski, Parkklinik Blankenese, Hamburg, Ästhetisch-Plastische Chirurgie
We use Hilotherapy daily for hair transplants. We regularly work with the front hairline area, the receding hairline and the front top of the head are permanently reconstructed with new hair roots. Despite microsurgical techniques, it causes swelling that can descend over the forehead to the eye region. Although this does not hurt and it does not influence the subsequent hair growth, but it affects the appearance of our patients for 3-5 days. For 2 years we routinely cool head and neck immediately after hair transplant with the HILOTHERAPY system. We see much less intense swelling and the patient feels good under the application immediately.
Dr. med. Frank Neidel, Spezialist für Haartransplantation, Düsseldorf
I have started using the Hilotherapy on patients undergoing elective foot surgery and the initial responses are very favourable. The early anecdotal view is that there is a reduction in pain post-operatively. The patients report that the device is very comfortable to wear and the staff have found the machines much easier than the Cryocuff devices that we have used previously. I would strongly support Hilotherapy for your patients. For the record, I have no financial involvement in the company nor the device.

Having used cooling devices on my patients undergoing knee surgery for some time I was delighted to finally come across Hilotherm, a system that maintains a relaible and reproducible cool temperature without continuous ice changes. The cuffs are comfortable and help significantly reduce pain and swelling following surgery. The patients also like to take home the portable device and it is often difficult to get them to surrender the machine back!. So convinced am I of this new technology that we are trialling the machines as a premeptive anlagesic to reduce pain and subsequent length of stay; it appears to be dong the trick at the moment.

I use the Hilotherapy machine with single use face masks for patients who have had total TMJ replacement. My experience is very favorable with most declaring it to be beneficial in reducing postoperative discomfort. One patient was so impressed he is purchasing a portable device for home use!

At the Northern Ireland Regional Maxillofacial Service we have been using Hilotherapy for our patients since January 2010. We have found it to be very effective in reducing pain and swelling in our osteotomy patients. The nursing staff feel it has led to a significant improvement in the quality of the post-operative care they are able to provide.

At home I sit with the Hilotherapy cuff strapped to my knee. Ice packs can burn a bit but Hilotherapy is really comfortable. It really helped me recover for Strictly come Dancing and I was able to tango again.

I was thoroughly impressed with how comfortable and effective the treatment is for both new and old injuries – I knew I had to purchase one for myself as it would help me recuperate much faster. I'm looking forward to being fit and ready for future fights with the help of Hilotherapy.
